Senior Network Engineer

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Network Engineer to join their team and contribute to the seamless delivery of world-class events. This position focuses on the planning, implementation, and management of network services for global events, ensuring the highest standards in connectivity, cybersecurity, and operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, delivery, and operations of network services for offices and event venues, including major tournaments.

  • Review and implement network infrastructure designs, ensuring compliance with specifications for hardware, cybersecurity, monitoring, and passive infrastructure.

  • Manage procurement processes, supplier selection, and onboarding for telecommunication and network service providers.

  • Lead network infrastructure setup, including commissioning and decommissioning of event venues, ensuring timely delivery of components and services.

  • Ensure effective delivery of network services during events, tracking progress and addressing risks and issues per governance protocols.

  • Perform equipment configuration, testing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and handover activities.

  • Provide guidance and support on network projects, adhering to change management protocols and ensuring smooth communication across stakeholders.

  • Mentor team members and develop educational materials to promote best practices.


Requirements

  • Several years of experience in network engineering, including routing, switching, security, and wireless technologies.

  • Proven ability to deliver complex network projects.

  • Knowledge of telecom networks, wired and wireless infrastructure (nice to have), and protocols (WAN/LAN, MPLS, VPN, VLAN, VoIP, etc.).

  • Expertise in structured cabling (copper and fiber) and high-density wireless networks.

  • University degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field; certifications like CCNP, CCIE, or CISSP are valued, but not mandatory.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a talent for consulting and consensus-building.

  • Ability to work under tight timelines and travel globally (up to 30%), travels are paid and very nice hotels.

  • Fluency in English; additional language skills are an asset.
